Jens Wolf, 2015

"Since the end of my studies, I have been working with geometric abstract painting, which may remind one of classic Constructivism or Hard Edge painting. However, now I see the code of abstraction as being historically rooted in the geometrical. I distort and fragment basic forms, and favoured images and apply them on plywood which, with its natural grain, provides a worn aspect to the image, emphasized by the imperfections of the lines. My paintings lie somewhere between high artistic abstraction and pop culture trivialization, without compromising the painting itself as a valid, contemporary medium". Jens Wolf, 2015
