Luxembourg, le 26 mai 2008 : Dexia a l’honneur de présenter second_nature, une exposition collective ambitieuse dont la thématique se penche sur les phénomènes de civilisation.
Pendant quatre mois, 25 artistes internationaux notoires montrent comment d’une nature première, l’Homme peut, par sa seconde nature, différer fondamentalement de sa nature primordiale.
Cette transformation engendrée par la nature même de l’Homme, par ses inventions, par son génie, par les outils qu’il se donne, participe à la construction des structures de pensée et des buts sociaux touchant la religion, la légitimation du pouvoir, les progrès techniques : en mouvements permanents, ces changements redéfinissent continuellement cette seconde nature, cette « contre-nature », avec les risques que nous connaissons et dont nous avons tous conscience.
Tous les artistes participants présentent une œuvre bien en connivence ou en dehors du contexte naturel. Ce faisant, le parcours évite le format d’exposition collective classique et prête aux artistes un espace autonome qui permet une circulation aérée, une promenade entre espace public et espace privé.
L’exposition a lieu au Parc Heintz et à la galerie attenante, la Galerie l’Indépendance de Dexia BIL, du 27 mai au 17 octobre 2008.

Luxembourg, 26 May 2008 – Dexia is pleased to present second_nature, an
ambitious group show programme that will reveal the concern with all sort of
civilisation phenomenons.
Over the course of four months, 25 international renowned artists show how first
human nature can become fundamentally different of this first primordial nature.
This transformation is made by the nature of human being itself, by its
inventions, by its genius, by the tools he invents for himself and makes that the
structure of meanings and aims of social society like religion, legitimation of
power, technical progress are constantly moving, changing end redefining a
second nature, a “counter-nature”, with the risks we all know and are conscious
about today.
All of the artists are presenting a piece either in or out of the natural context,
and hence the programme avoids the group show in the classical format and
instead gives participants a more autonomous space which allows a wide
circulation and promenade between public and private space.
This exhibition is being held at Parc Heintz and Galerie l’Indépendance from
27th May until 17th October 2008.
